"Whenever there is a great property, there is great inequality" - Adam Smith
"Poverty, wealth, unequally at odds, this world is corrupt, this world is a fraud." - RKease Company
As a founder during my founder's journey, it's important to be an avid reader so that I can continue to get innovative ideas in order to propel my business forward. A recent book that I have read that has been phenomenal and instrumental to my founders journey is "Code of Capital: How the Law Creates Wealth and Inequality" by Katharina Pastor. This book has been an instrumental piece for me learning more about the laws of society, wealth creation, and intellectual property. The book details how large corporations actually have know-how, trade secrets, patents, and intellectual property within their companies that allow them to become extreme wealthy compared to the working class.

Katharina Pastor elaborates on how lawyers are actually the wealth alchemists for companies because it's through agreements, deeds, convertible notes, and company formation that allows companies to become prosperous. Wealth inequality is done through property rights, intellectual property rights, etc. and while the majority of the population is unaware of this, most of these companies are becoming more successful, day by day. She brings up many case examples of corporations, firms, and civilizations in antiquity that leveraged the power of the law and knew its benefits in order to have a competitive advantage. This book is an inspiration as to why at RKease Company we believe so much in the power of generational wealth, ownership, and entrepreneurship.

At RKease company one of our mantras is culture is capital, capital is culture because we believe that our culture produces capital and economic rewards for other cultures, while we are excluded from the piece of the pie. Not understanding laws, intellectual property, corporations, tax code, accounting, and having financial literacy is disrupting our prosperity as BIPOC creators, entrepreneurs, and even investors. This is why it's important to read books, such as Code of Capital because we are economically the ones who are at the bottom of the totem pole in terms of wealth inequality and industry. Other cultures understanding the codes and having these insights has widened the gap severely and if we don' t become wise to take heed we can have this wealth gap increase even more.

Copyrighting my song, "Step" at the Canadian Intellectual Property Office was imperative for my company's growth because by copyrighting the song, it enables me to secure a digital asset that only appreciates over time. It's important and imperative to read about different books regarding intellectual property, but it's another thing to take action and actually own your rights which bridges theory to practice. This is the reason, why I bring this up so much because ownership and inheritance is vital to generational wealth and with generational wealth you can pass that down to your next couple generations.

Overall, Code of Capital has inspired me to be able to know that owning your masters, intellectual property, in order to build your portfolio for future generations. Thank you for reading the blog, and I hope your day is full of rest, kindness, and ease, peace!!
