"The purpose of a business is to create a customer" - Peter Drucker

Advertising fashion in order to serve, giving the world music and what they deserve! - RKease Company

The entrepreneurial journey is a series of pivots, iterations, reflections, which honestly has been a phenomenal ride for me thus far because of valuable lessons that I have learned through operating my business. Without these lessons I don't think my business would have gotten to the point where it's at today and I would not have been the person who I am now as well. Being a first time founder in my family has changed my perspective on life and it has made me realise that anything is possible if you put your mind to it. Nonetheless, these lessons are great, but let's speak on the topic at hand, which are customer segments.

Strategyzer: Business Model Canvas
Strategyzer: Business Model Canvas

According to Peter Drucker who is a business management savant and thought leader, he stated that the purpose of a business is to create a customer. Customers help generate revenue which is the life-blood of your business, without it your business cannot stay afloat and will eventually go down under. Therefore it's important to create customer segments which will help you search and hunt for these customers which will eventually fuel your business income and dollars. Customer Segments according to Strategyzer, "are the distinct groups of people or organisations that a business serves, each with common needs, behaviours, or other attributes." Therefore, it's important to understand who customer segments are and who are willing to pay for my service of crafting jingles in order to advertise for consumer products and services.

My first customer in my customer segment has to do with fashion retailers. Fashion retailers are great to be in my customer segment for various reasons. Number 1, is because there is so much competition between each brand to have differentiation and music is a great complimentary piece to a brand. Having audio to your brand, essentially that's great quality would actually evoke emotions and have brand recall in the song. Music has been powerful in terms of doing that because music in etymology means to"muse", which means to be absorbed in thought! Therefore, with music you can have the power to be able to recall products to customers minds. Now which brand would you say has leveraged hip-hop music in order to enhance their branding efforts.

Ralph Lauren is a perfect brand who was able to leverage hip-hop and rap music in order to attract a customer base that they didn't plan on targeting in order to acquire a customer base. Ralph Lauren's brand aligned with hip-hop culture because hip-hop symbolised luxury, authenticity, boldness, aspiration, and intention. With hip-hop's rags to riches come up story, it aligned with Ralph Lauren's Jewish heritage roots, of building a brand from ground zero to popularity and stardom. This was the essence of the hip-hop movement, which was built off the concept of rags to riches.

This is the reason why at RKease Company, we are creating jingles and theme songs in order to connect brands to their customer bases. We call these customer bases, their fans and in order to do that we must acquire clients in specific industries who need this service and help them create impact and get over the hump. With that being said, I hope you enjoy my blog and your day is full of rest, kindness, and ease! Peace!
