"Composing to innovate with music, so wise, so you can't confuse this." - Rkease Company
"Songwriting is my way of channelling my feelings and my thoughts. Not just mine, but the things I see, the people I care about. My head would explode if I didn't get some of that stuff out." - Dolly Parton
My songwriting journey has been phenomenal, and it has been such a wonderful process in order to live out my dream of creating, shaping, and transforming the music industry as we know it. Music has been a therapy for me, and the power to write, communicate, and articulate my feelings through catchy songs has been such a confidence builder for me. Songwriting is a therapeutic tool and a wealth builder because when you are able to concoct, invent, and sell your music you can gain an income that can pay you for the rest of your life. Even though, you can make money through songwriting, I won't be going into that today, but more of my story on why I wanted to write again and who are my inspirations.

Music comes from the word "Muse", which means to be absorbed in thought, to ponder, to meditate, and to contemplate. Being an avid reader, student of life, and intellect myself which I actually got from my wonderful mother named Margaret Kabamba (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maguy_Kabamba) who is an established author proves why song writing has been a crux and backbone for my musical career.

I never saw myself as a musician before, but the reason why I became one is because of how much I listened to music over the course of my lifetime. I remember being an undergraduate Carleton University student, and walking around with my Dr. Dre beat headphones listening to my favourite three artists Kendrick Lamar, Jermaine Cole, and Jay-Z. Those artists shaped me, and taught me the power of music, especially rap music and how to be a storyteller, entertainer, and have fun during the highs and lows of life.
These artists are my songwriting examples because the poetry and lyrical prowess of these people enabled me to learn the power of composition and putting things together to invent, devise, and author a creative work. My first song that I wrote officially and performed was a song called "Atoms" under my alias named King K. The song called "Atoms", was about my engineering story of two people, one who was cheating and cutting corners and the other who went through adversity but through resilience of studying bounced back and passed the class. Those were the two realities that I faced and I was definitely the one who cut corners because I ended up failing out of engineering, but that's a story for another day.
Songwriting has a powerful therapeutic and relieving theme to it because you can articulate your pain, struggles, thoughts, emotions, and channel it into something productive. This allows for therapy to be in your control without even going to see someone and you can even enhance your overall well-being as a result of it. According to Google search results, there are various benefits to songwriting, which can be listed below.
Reduce stress
Helps process emotions
Boost your immune system
Increase motivation and performance
Reduce anxiety or depression
Boosts your mood
Enhances your memory
Regulates your mood
Encourages social connection
Overall, with all these health benefits it makes sense why I feel so great being a rapper and composer. In my next blog, I will speak of the music industry business and how composers actually make money. I hope everyone has enjoyed the blog, and the day is full of rest, kindness, and ease, peace! :)
