"You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great" - Zig Ziglar
Going into business and making that leap to creating my own venture has been a long and tedious journey. There have been many ups and downs since I officially began my entrepreneurial journey in September 2019, and getting to the stage where I am today has been fantastic, but not
without much pain. I first began my journey in the electro-mechanical engineering technician program at Fanshawe College where I was attempting to create a therapeutic robotic animal for millennial's suffering from mental health issues, such as depression and anxiety.
On that journey I was able to learn the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, such as how to create a value proposition, business model canvas, swot analysis, engineering research, and I even got second place in my first pitch competition at Fanshawe's Leap Junction. All of these topics were building blocks for my business acumen, but there were certain issues which kept arising, not just for the robotics project, or business venture, but my overall health. I kept suffering from a common

entrepreneurial plague called BURNOUT due to the lack of stress management. By definition burnout according to healthguide.org is, "a state of emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion caused by excessive and prolonged stress. It occurs when you feel overwhelmed, emotionally drained, and unable to meet constant demands." I consistently burnt out, ended up not doing well in my technician program, my social life declined, and I wasn't feeling like myself anymore.
Therefore, I took a step back and I had an epiphany, and I realised that instead of doing a robotics business, since I accumulated so much knowledge of mental well-being due to my project and self-studies; I can figure out a way to create stress management workshops and prevent the same burnout that happened to me for myself and others!! Therefore, I got the entrepreneurial itch once again and off to the Leap office I was again having another consultation about my new business venture. After various sessions with my advisers, I was able to pitch my business for Leapin Summer Business Accelerator program and got accepted. Now I am on a new journey and new path to save as many people from the grips of burnout one workshop at a time!
