"As long as the brain is at rest, a man enjoys his reason" - Hippocrates Sacred Disease

Rest is reason, reason is rest, have to get the stress of your chest off your chest

In my previous blogs, in the inception of my business, I was able to elaborate on the importance of "Rest is Reason" and why I begun my company on that mantra or belief system, which essentially substantiates my entity and why it came to life. But throughout my research, experience, and understanding of my brand, I was able to figure out, no pun intended "reasons", why this mantra is crucial especially in terms of stress education, wellness, and health care in general. Let's give some background information on Hippocrates of Kos and who he was, and what he contributed before I prove his words in study.

"Hippocrates, (born c. 460 BCE, island of Cos, Greece—died c. 375 BCE, Larissa, Thessaly), ancient Greek physician who lived during Greece’s Classical period and is traditionally regarded as the father of medicine. It is difficult to isolate the facts of Hippocrates’ life from the later tales told about him or to assess his medicine accurately in the face of centuries of reverence for him as the ideal physician. This physician is known as the father of medicine, simply because he was the one that created the foundation for the medical practice throughout the old world, and then it spread to the new world. Now I wanted to prove how his saying "rest is reason" is even used in pharmacology today, by speaking on a drug called Aripiprazole.

Aripiprazole is a drug used to treat people with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, but why though?! I am not going to go into that too in depth because that's a series of blogs, and even a study within itself, but I want to prove the principle because this drug is in a class of its own. The class of drug Aripiprazole is called "Tranquillisers", and understands the etymology (https://www.etymonline.com/word/tranquilizer#etymonline_v_38959)

of this word is crucial to know what it does to the actual mind. tranquilizer (n.)

1800, "that which tranquilizes;" from 1824 as "a sedative" (first reference is to ground ivy), agent noun from tranquillise; in reference to one of a large group of anti-anxiety drugs, it is recorded by 1956.

Now there is so much to unpack in this one definition, but when something is an anti-anxiety drug which sedates it means that the drug is trying to ease your emotions so that you can relieve the strain in your mental faculties so your thoughts and emotions are not intrusive, harmful, or abruptive. As a result, what happens when someone's inner man is calm and relaxed, they'll have REASON, once again. This is why Rest is Reason, Reason is Rest, it's all throughout science and this is why stress management is imperative to your overall growth and survival as a human being!! Therefore stay tuned for more, have a great week, peace!!
