"There is no one segment of our society that has been spared from the opioid crisis" - Andrew Koldny

Opioid, opiate, killing people and only stirring hate

Throughout my time living on the streets of London, I was able to see that homeless people were not just a people, but they were a society. One person on Dundas Street that was homeless, would know another person on Talbot street, or the Men's Mission or Salvation Army. This is a way bigger crisis than what people can even imagine and there has to be people who are out there speaking about it, in order to fix it.

Now where do opioids come from and how come they are so crucial in terms of the destruction of the City of London, also known as the Forest City. According to the USA Department of Justice, here are some quick facts about the opium plant.

"Opium is a highly addictive non-synthetic narcotic that is extracted from the poppy plant, Papaver somniferum. The opium poppy is the key source for many narcotics, including morphine, codeine, and heroin. WHAT IS ITS ORIGIN? The poppy plant, Papaver somniferum, is the source of opium. It was grown in the Mediterranean region as early as 5000 B.C., and has since been cultivated in a number of countries throughout the world.

The milky fluid that seeps from its incisions in the unripe seedpod of this poppy has been scraped by hand and air-dried to produce what is known as opium. A more modern method of harvesting for pharmaceutical use is by the industrial poppy straw process of extracting alkaloids from the mature dried plant (concentrate of poppy straw). All opium and poppy straw used for pharmaceutical products are imported into the United States from legitimate sources in regulated countries." - (https://www.dea.gov/sites/default/files/2020-06/Opium-2020.pdf)

Now the opium plant was extracted in the Mediterranean area mainly, but how did it get all the way over here in North America and why is it spreading so fast to so many people all over the place because it's killing people at such astronomical rates, but should it actually be killing people though that's the question? How can you die from a plant? Does this make any sense whatsoever? Let's go to the etymology of the word.

opiate (n.)

"medicine containing opium," early 15c., from Medieval Latin opiatus, from Latin opium (see opium). Figurative sense of "anything that dulls the feelings and induces rest or inaction" is from 1640s. From 1540s in English as an adjective, "made with or containing opium," hence "inducing sleep, narcotic."

An opiate reduces rest, and a mantra for my company is called Rest is Reason, Reason is Reason is Rest, therefore there has to be a problem as to why an opiate can kill someone, when in its natural state you should be more logical, sensible, and aware if you are consuming a form of an opiate.

The only reason why people on the streets have issues with fentanyl is because someone laced it with other chemicals and that actually morphs and shapes the molecular structure of the opioid which changes its shape and overall makes people super addicted and then die. An original opiate induces sleep, rest, and relaxation, so how can people die from it. It's the culprit drug dealers who are trying to get more money so they can kill and get money from it. i have witnessed this with my own eyes and its vile anneedsd to be stopped.

RKease OUT, LETS GO!!! :)
